MoneoHeritage is a unique and personal accommodation, nestled in a family building dating back to 1905. Illusion and a personal vision are the premises that guided us to recover a living element of Salamanca's modernism, a space designed for guests who enjoy the experience of staying and immersing themselves in a setting forged in the Belle Époque. To achieve this, we base our motto on: "21st-century relaxation and comfort at the disposal of travelers inspired by 19th-century romanticism."

Our Story

MoneoHeritage, a tourist accommodation, is designed as a welcoming and immersive space in the heart of Salamanca. From here, one can connect not only with the city's historical and cultural attractions, but also with the living history of our own past. This space was conceived by the son of the building's owners, Miguel Hernández Herrera, a descendant of two branches of the family that helped shape this city. His intention is none other than to honour and bring into the present those ancestors who introduced the new elements of industrial progress to Salamanca. From the earliest moments of his awareness, cradled by stories and anecdotes, he grew up under the influence of his grandmother, Julia Pérez-Moneo Mañosa, widow of Herrera. Through her kind tales, he came to learn about a fascinating time, a space full of figures of change, such as the arrival of the railway, industrialisation, and the creation of factory complexes. A life that spanned a century in which his grandmother was deeply immersed at its very core.

Daughter of one of the prominent men of her time, Vicente Pérez-Moneo Bande, an engineer who graduated in Lille, France, at the end of the 19th century, she later returned to Salamanca to take the helm of the family business, La Fundición Moneo, which is revived through this project. A woman of her era, a Moneo who, through her marriage to another prominent industrial family, the Herrera family, well-known tanners of Salamanca, was able to instil in her a love for her time, filling her childhood with lessons and affection. This formed the foundation of the person she is today, and of this singular space she has created for the rest and integration of 21st-century travellers.
